Assistant Manager - Credit
Salary: 14,000.00
This is a highly responsible role that supervises a team of Credit Officers. The position involves overseeing the management, marketing, and sales of the bank's products and services, assessing clients' and prospective clients' business profiles to evaluate risk potential, and effectively managing delinquency portfolios.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Market the banks’ products and services
• Oversee the Credit Portfolio ensuring delinquency levels are low, renewals are done on time, all tasks by Credit officers are completed.
• Prepare Term Sheets and Early Assessment Reviews (EAR) for watch list/high profile clients.
• Responsible for preparing forex manufacturing and FAS essentials applications (new/renewal/repatriation)
• Responsible for underwriting commercial type loans and preparing full credit packages of high-risk clients.
• Conduct and analyze, evaluation, and credit adjudication of proposed credit facilities for customers and prospects.
• Review credit packages completed by Credit Officers.
• Review loan disbursements and forex sale transactions daily.
• Present clients’ credit analysis to management and board
• Evaluate assignments of clients’ securities.
• Maintain clients’ portfolio of watch list clients.
• Prepare reports for clients, management and board of directors.
• Manage delinquency portfolios.
• Supervise the daily operations of credit officers.
• Train new credit officers, data processors, underwriters and transaction remittance officers.
• Provide Guidance to credit officers as needed.
• Attend various Trade Shows and Marketing Events
• Attend customer meetings.
• Participate in projects as delegated from time to time.
• Engage in Audit, ECL and Budget Formulation with the Manager Credit.
• May be required to perform any other related duties.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor degree in Economics, Finance, Management or any other related field and five years related work experience, with at least one year supervisory experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• In-depth knowledge of financial principles and practices.
• Some knowledge of marketing principles and practices.
• Some knowledge of Trinidad and Tobago Financial Acts (FIU, Central Bank, FIA, Insurance etc.).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to analyze financial statements and make sound judgment.
• Ability to assess securities and determine their potential.
• Ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of a small group of credit officers in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale.
• Ability to prepare meaningful and informative special and regular reports and presentations.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, managers, and other employees.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in researching and analyzing facts and arriving at conclusions.
• Ability to manage time effectively.

• Ability to function in a technology-prevalent environment, utilizing computers and a variety of software as a work tool.
