We're hiring an Assistant Logistics Manager to coordinate warehouse operations and support last-mile delivery. The successful candidate will oversee inventory, manage staff, ensure compliance, and optimize processes for cost efficiency.

We are committed to efficient operations and is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Logistics Manager to support our last-mile delivery operations.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate the shipment, receipt, and processing of merchandise, ensuring all discrepancies are reported and managed through to resolution.
  2. Ensure timely and safe unloading of containers to ensure all company stock is accounted for, eliminate storage and demurrage costs, and ensure efficient preparation of loads.
  3. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and reflective of stock order, deliveries, storage, and distribution ensuring that all orders for delivery, collection, transfers, and goods receivable are processed and filed daily as appropriate to ensure high levels of accuracy.
  4. Generate and analyze stock management reports, taking necessary actions to improve efficiency.
  5. Organize and maintain warehouses for safe operations and efficient material flow of both inbound and outbound materials to maximize warehouse space, prevent damage to goods and limit aged/dead stock ensuring proper organization, labeling, and storage of stock, including customer returns and repossessed items.
  6. Track inventory and maintain security controls by conducting physical counts, and reconcile discrepancies in warehouse systems.
  7. Assist in planning, directing, and coordinating all last-mile delivery activities, ensuring timely and accurate picking to ensure order fulfillment to meet customer expectations.
  8. Support a positive customer experience by maintaining high delivery standards and addressing customer inquiries and concerns promptly.
  9. Assist in preparing and presenting regular reports on logistics performance, including delivery metrics, costs, and customer satisfaction and analyze logistics data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  10. Maintain and enforce health, safety, and security standards in warehouse operations, while providing support, coaching and mentoring to team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of inventory control and stock management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with figures accurately.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Strong leadership and results orientation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in logistics, or distribution environment, with a focus on last mile delivery.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing a team of drivers and warehouse staff preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics management systems and technologies.
  • Experience with a contingent and peak season workforce a plus.
  • Experience with furniture, appliance or electronics delivery a plus.
