Assistant Laundry Manager

We are seeking the services of a qualified individual to fill the post of an Assistant Laundry Manager. Are you the person we are looking for?

ASSISTANT lAUNDRY MANAGER

DUTIES & Responsibilities

1. Assist with overseeing all Laundry Operations to include leadership of staff, management of supplies and materials ensuring a proficient operation.
2. Ensuring the washing of linen and uniforms as per standard
3. Ensure proper Maintenance and upkeep of all laundry equipment
4. Co-ordinate with the Engineering Department about their routine maintenance of the equipment and outstanding repairs
5. Assist with the preparation of an Annual Laundry Budget and development ofnew methods for increasing laundry efficiency, recording and monitoring laundry costs
6. Overall controlling and supervision of the department
7. Ensure high quality cleanliness is maintained and that all the standard regulatory policies are being followed
8. Training and coordination with supporting departments and Training unit
9. Make reports and recommendations when required
10. Ensures that statutory health and safety regulations are being followed by the workers in the laundry areas
11. Oversee the laundry equipment preventive maintenance program
12. Ensure that clothing is clean, disinfected, washed, dried, ironed and stored in a proper manner
13. Approve distribution of linen to guestrooms and respective food and beverage department areas
14. Ensure manning adherence balancing the new hires and projected need

 SKILLS REQUIRED

• Should be familiar with computers and hotel applications.
• Excellent supervisory and management skills
• Good organization and training skills are essential
• Good problem-solving skills
• Good business acumen and should be target oriented in order to achieve the department’s goals and objectives

• MUST have at least 2 years’ experience
