This is a Senior Management position within the PriceSmart organization responsible for the support of the operations of the Warehouse/Club and the management of key high volume departments within the structure our Warehouse Club.

Our client is looking for an Assistant Club Manager/Assistant General Manager.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

This is a Senior Management position within the PriceSmart organization responsible for the support of the operations of the Warehouse/Club and the management of key high volume departments within the structure our Warehouse Club. Your role would include overseeing compliance in in certain areas such as administrative and operational areas, while maintaining standards and compliance with the company’s goals for the Club. This is a very hands-on position with over 50% of the Assistant Club Manager’s time spent on the sales floor managing the departments and interacting with employees and members.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has overall responsibility for:

 

  • Ensuring consistently high standards in the general operations of the business including, Inventory Audit, Security, Sales Audit, Legal, Financial Reporting, Information Technology, Vault/Cash Control, Cashiers, Member Service, Membership and Marketing programmes, among others.
  • Monitoring inventory through various reports such as Zero Sales Reports, Salvage, Donations and Destruction, etc. as well as analyzing the results of daily and weekly sales of the Club.
  • Strategic management of the operations with specific focus on reducing expenses without compromising standards
  • Managing the process of profit and loss (P&L) while monitoring the Club’s monthly controllable expenditures.
  • Ensuring that corporate assets are protected: merchandise, facility, cash
  • The efficient administration of department budget while supporting the increase in sales and profits for the Club.
  • Ensuring compliance with procedures regarding the opening and closing of the Club.
  • Performing ‘Duty Manager’ functions as required
  • Ensuring that employees are properly compensated, treated fairly and there is an environment that fosters good employee morale.
  • Supporting corporate initiatives to achieve desires results

 

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Business Administration or similar areas
  • Minimum five (5) years managerial experience in a high volume, retail operation, at a senior level
  • A passionate, hands-on leader with a pragmatic “can do” attitude and a focus on delivering results
  • Outstanding time management ability, teamwork skills and an effective communicator
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • High energy level, enthusiastic with a positive attitude
  • Proficiency in Spanish is an asset.
