This role involves developing and implementing controls for efficient processing, analysis, and reporting, optimizing cash management, and managing banking relationships. As a supervisory position, it provides leadership to accounting technicians, supports planning and budgeting processes, and fosters internal knowledge sharing and coordination across divisions within the organization.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage daily cash flow, including foreign currency requirements, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs, including petty cash floats.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of treasury operations.
Oversee and maintain strong relationships with banks and financial service providers.
Review and ensure timely reconciliation of specific general ledger accounts, including bank and cash clearing accounts.
Ensure credit card statements are accurately reconciled and comply with the company's travel policy.
Enforce petty cash procedures to ensure proper usage and compliance with company policies.
Identify and resolve discrepancies between company records and bank statements, collaborating with internal departments or financial institutions to streamline cash flow operations.
Maintain an up-to-date database of bank account access and signing authorities.
Prepare weekly cash position reports for senior management, providing an overview of liquidity, cash balances, and projected funding needs.
Ensure all bank transactions are completed accurately and have the necessary approvals.
Approve and post daily accounting journal entries for bank transactions.
Supervise the cashier team, ensuring adherence to cash handling and reconciliation procedures.
Oversee the cash logistics process, ensuring alignment with contractual agreements.
Contribute to the accurate and timely completion of the monthly financial close process.
Assist with internal and external audit processes as required.
Provide analytical and technical support to Shared Services team members and assist associates with reporting-related queries.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to health, safety, security, and environmental standards.
Perform any additional job-related duties as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor.
Requirements
ACCA Level 1 or 2
At least three years work experience in the accounting field
Computer Literate – Working knowledge of MS Office and a computerized financial application.
