The Assistant Accountant provides a range of general clerical, accounting and book-keeping support to the accounting, investments and finance functions for the Company, preparing budgets and building and assessing financial reports, in support of the achievement of organizational objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in the preparation of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, both electronically and manually, including but not limited to timely preparation of customer invoices, monitoring of customer accounts for delayed and non-payments, timely posting and accrual of expenses and vendor reconciliation.
- Processes Cash Transactions, including but not limited to, receiving cash/cheques, direct deposits and petty cash.
- Prepares all documents related to bank transactions, including but not limited to, deposits, issuance of cheques and bank reconciliations.
- Processes payroll-related transactions, including but not limited to NIS, PAYE, HS and BIK.
- Assists in the maintenance of the Company’s ledgers and daily financial transactions, identifying discrepancies between ledgers and accounts, tracking them to the source and correcting same.
- Assists in the maintenance of the Company’s Fixed Assets and Inventory Assets registers.
- Assists in the periodic (monthly, quarterly and annual) reconciliation of accounts and prepares adjusting journal entries as authorized.
- Assists in the preparation of taxation documentation, including income tax returns and VAT returns.
- Assists in the maintenance of the Company’s investment accounts, creating detailed reports showing gains and losses.
- Assists with collection of outstanding payments from Clients.
- Issues invoices and purchase orders, as well as completes consultant, subcontractor, vendor, and supplier payments.
- Assists in the preparation of various financial reports and month-end schedules for review.
- Undertakes administrative support functions, including filing.
- Complies fully with the Company’s policies and procedures and adheres to the Company’s Core Values and Code of Business Conduct by daily demonstration of associated behaviour.
- Performs any other duties as required by the job function.
Education and Job Experience
- ACCA Level 2 or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; and
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
Any other suitable combination of qualifications and experience may be considered.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and financial accounting software
