Architectural Drafting Technician

Architectural Drafting Technicians: Must be able to prepare detailed drawings of buildings and structures, working from sketches or notes. Able to use computer-aided design (CAD) software and other drafting tools to create precise plans and drawings

Job Description

- Design and Planning:
    - Draft plans and detailed drawings for construction projects, such as buildings and any area of the built environment
    - Coordinate structural, electrical, and mechanical designs.

- Technical Skills:
    - Use CAD software, such as Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autodesk Revit, and Sketchup
    - Analyze building codes, laws, and regulations

- Collaboration and Communication:
    - Supervise and train other drafters and technologists
    - Explain drawings to production or construction teams
    - Provide adjustments as necessary


Requirements:

- Education: Associate's degree or vocational training in architectural drafting or BA in Architecture or a related field

- Skills:
    - Strong understanding of building materials, engineering drawings, survey diagrams, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire proof drawings
    - Proficiency in CAD software and other drafting tools (listed above)
    - Attention to detail and analytical thinking
