Appraiser/Valuer

The job holder will be responsible for the survey and valuation of the property in the residential and commercial space.

PURPOSE OF JOB

Provide an efficient and effective property survey and valuation service in a team setting.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be a member of a valuation’s team responsible for the survey and valuation of the property in the residential and commercial space. 
• The range of activities to be undertaken by any individual will depend on level of qualification, ability and experience and may include:- 
• Assisting with the survey and valuation of a wide variety of residential and commercial subjectsincluding estimating the market value of land, buildings, and commercial (real estate) properties. 
• Assisting in implementing programs of valuation related computer development.
• Writing detailed reports/Preparation of draft valuation reports. 
• Providing recommendations to valuation team. 
• Keeping up to date with the property and valuation market. 
• Valuation of a wide variety of properties.

REQUIREMENTS

• BSc. in a related field or equivalent experience. 
• Valuer’s certificate would be as asset. 
• Experience in the valuation/appraisal space would be an asset. 
• AssocRICS or RICS or similar designation would be a plus.
• Knowledge of building and construction including reading of land and building plans.
• Experience with reading and understanding financial statements.
• Excellent communication skills. 
• Good maths and analytical thinking skills.
• Ability to pay attention to detail.
• Excellent IT, Information Management and MS Office suite skills.
