Anaesthetic Technician
Job Summary
The Anaesthetic Technician will be responsible for working alongside anaesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide safe and effective anaesthesia care to patients. He/she will assist with the administration of anaesthesia, monitor patients during procedures, and provide support to the anaesthesia care team to ensure the best possible patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain all anaesthetic equipment according to required standards.
Assist to ensure patient’s vital signs are stable during surgical procedures.
Assist with the sterilisation of the operating theatre and equipment.
Operate the machines, monitors, and other equipment used during the surgical procedure, and help the surgeon when needed.
Assist with the administration of anaesthesia, including induction, maintenance, and emergencies.
Assist with monitoring the patient's condition throughout the procedure and make any necessary adjustments to the anaesthesia plan as instructed.
Ensure adequate levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the operating theatre are maintained.
Assist the physician with positioning of the patient as required.
Prepare the patient for recovery from anaesthesia after the surgery.
Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate quality, health, safety, security and environmental policies and procedures.

Bending and assisting to move patients may be required.
Ability to stand for long periods.
Availability to work after hours for on-call emergency situations as needed.
