The Admissions Clerk is expected to greet, receive and direct clients in a timely manner; perform routine clerical and administrative functions, and provide excellent patient care and customer service.
Position Summary:
Responsibilities/Duties:
• Provide information and quotations for Local and Foreign patients.
• Document and resolve queries as required.
• Perform the administrative aspects of patient pre-admissions, admissions and discharges.
• Collect payments, deposits and issue receipts after hours.
• Ensure Guarantee of Payment is received on a timely basis and patient' accounts are up to date.
• Provide Financial Clearance to Nurses for admission of patients and follow-up.
• Conduct daily review of Admitted patients for updates to payment program.
• Update patient’s register with new admissions, Medical Record numbers and Diagnosis.
• Audit and process invoices for Accident and Emergency Room patients and Day Cases.
• Liaise with insurance companies to verify coverage and clarification.
• Calculate co-payments to requests payment from patient.
• Night Shifts – Performs all duties of Ward Clerks.
• Update Hospital Management System as required.
• Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Experience and Training:
• Minimum 5 O’ level passes inclusive of Mathematics and English Language.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Customer service an asset.
• At least two (2) years’ work experience in a similar position.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of office practice and procedures.
• Knowledge of filing and preparation of invoices, receipts and bills.
• Must be customer service oriented.
• Ability to document and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external partners.
• Ability to think creatively and to demonstrate flexibility.
• Ability to work effectively under stress, to prioritize, multi- task within tight deadlines and respond to changing demands.

• Must be able to work a shift system including weekends and public holidays.
