As the Product Specialist, you support the product manager as the unofficial Corporate development lead. You will know your domain and be the subject matter expert for the products, plans, and promotions supporting corporate sales. You will be responsible for ensuring the health of your portfolio, assessing, the current landscape and lead prioritization, standardization, and implementation of service offering improvements. As the product specialist you will continually analyze trends, provide robust insights, and brainstorm ideas for current and future portfolio expansion. Execution of innovative ideas will be your strength given your expert knowledge of the product development lifecycle. The Acquisition Specialist is resilient and adaptable to account for potentially dynamic changes to product strategy and be able to adapt to these changes while minimizing any impact to productivity of the development team.
Essential Duties:
Own the Business-to-Business Product strategy– know the current landscape and work with the business to help prioritize, standardize, and implement improvements. Know your domain; be the subject matter expert for the products you own
Translating external trends into actions to capture opportunities or mitigate threats. Work alongside Market Intelligence team to Isolate product rationalization and/or discontinuation opportunities to optimize margin and segment lineup
Serves the commercial Team by conducting ongoing and iterative prioritization of product improvement, ensuring requirements for user experiences/features are completed to align with the roadmap.
Formulate innovative base growth solutions. Discuss utilizing emerging technologies to improve acquisition rates.
Responsible for clearly written feature requirements are testable, and include any relevant material or artifact needed to support quality development and the Quality Assurance testing of user experience testing prior to launch.
Assists the Product Manager in conveying a clear product vision to the Applications Development team with an emphasis on effective communication and collaboration. Delivers agreed upon services in line with roadmap through effective management of delivery teams, testing, documentation etc.
Prime the development and delivery of weekly plans and the product roadmap. Conduct monthly reviews of your portfolio and competitive landscape review. Support the Senior Leadership Team in the development of written and verbal presentations (i.e. product reviews, business reviews, annual planning, strategic review sessions).
Maintain continuous focus on product, pricing, program & campaign improvement, ROI, cost effectiveness / efficiency by taking a leading role in cost reduction initiatives and revenue optimization.
Research new product ideas, creates the design (service description), implements, and maintain products, promotions/programs within Acquisition portfolio. Carry out entire product development life cycle from ideation to commercialization; Review, appraise and encounter technical, financial, and legal teams to implement new products
Analysis on key portfolio trends, insights, and growth opportunities for current and future expansion. Monthly & annual SME growth reviews including full portfolio and competitive landscape review. Leveraging analytics and insights from multiple sources to improve decision-making and campaign development activities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Business Analytics, Retail Management, other or 4+ years’ substitutable experience
1+ year retail and/or product development experience within a consumer brand, Telecommunications or Utility industry required.
Expert level with Microsoft 365 Office Suite, including teams and PowerPoint.
Advanced Intelligence System & Visualization creation via PowerBi, DOMO and/or Tableau is an asset.
The ability to engage in highly confidential discussions and maintain trust in all interactions.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
Proven problem solving and project management skills including attention to detail, ability to multi-task and still provide on-time deliverables.
Enthusiastic self-starter with ability to prioritize and multitask, working both independently and within a team environment.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment, while meeting deadlines and consistently delivering quality work.
