CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Accounts Clerk

(Short Term Contract - 1 to 3 months)

 Location:  La Brea

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support in accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, general ledger, and administrative tasks
  • Review, analyze, process, and prepare payments for staff expense reports
  • Reconcile general ledger and sub-ledger accounts
  • Assist in preparing month-end journal entries and maintaining accounting schedules
  • Participate in periodic close processes
  • Complete bank reconciliations and periodic cash reports
  • Compute and submit various statutory taxes, including VAT, withholding taxes, and business & green fund levy
  • Match payable invoices with purchase orders, goods receipt notes, service entry/receipts, and delivery notes
  • Process and pay invoices promptly according to organizational KPIs, ensuring proper completion and approval of all documents

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with statutory taxes, VAT, withholding taxes, business & green fund levy
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP, Maximo, or similar accounting software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Effective teamwork and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum ACCA Level II or similar qualification AND at least five (5) GCE/CXC passes (including Mathematics and English Language)
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ accounting experience in a similar position
