The Accounting Technician is responsible for recording financial transactions for two companies, ensuring accurate and timely financial records.

Key Responsibilities 

 

  1. Financial Transactions & Bookkeeping
  2. Record daily financial transactions using QuickBooks, ensuring accurate and up-to-date entries.
  3. Manage receipts and deposits of cash, including handling foreign transfers and bank transactions.
  4. Maintain accurate bank, foreign currency, and petty cash reconciliations.

 

  1. Payroll & Tax Management
  2. Calculate payroll and statutory deductions, ensuring timely and accurate salary disbursements.
  3. Prepare and file tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, and corporate taxes.
  4. Ensure compliance with all local tax laws and regulations.

 

  1. Monthly Reporting & Forecasting
  2. Prepare monthly management accounts and investigate variances with budget holders.
  3. Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
  4. Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
    1. Construction Accounting
    2. Maintain detailed accounting records for construction projects, including job costing and project tracking.
    3. Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and financial performance against forecasts.

 

  1. Qualifications & Skills:
    1. Education: Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    2. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with exposure to construction accounting preferred.
    3. Technical Skills: Proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word .
    4. Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze financial data andidentify discrepancies.
    5. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
    6. Supervision & Team Coordination
      • Supervise the Accounting/Admin Assistant, providing guidance and support as needed.
      • Coordinate with the Admin Manager and Operations Director to ensure financial policies are implemented effectively.
