The Accounting Clerk’s main responsibility is to ensure the timely preparation of daily and weekly reports within stated timelines for the division/entities to which he/she is assigned. As well as to identify, provide explanation and take steps to correct variances.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Accounting Clerk’s main responsibility is to ensure the timely preparation of reports within stated timelines for the division/entities to which he/she is assigned. As well as to identify, provide explanation and take steps to correct variances.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare General Journals for the period end
  • Generation of invoices on computerized system
  • Receival of Goods at processing area 
  • Collate Invoice/Payment documents for submission to Accounts Payables
  • Crop Mapping and balancing WIP General ledger
  • Analysis expenses at the end of accounting period
  • Prepare expense accruals monthly
  • Post deposit slip from lodgment report
  • Reconciliation of cash in transit account
  • Assist with the account receivables accounts
  • Assist with preparation of monthly Profit & Loss/profit variance analysis
  • Reconciliation of all Inventory general ledger with subledger at the end of period
  • Participate in monthly stock count


EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED TRAINING AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Presently pursuing accounting qualifications e.g. ACCA, FCA, CPA, MBA with a major in Accounting or equivalent.
  • 2+ year experience in similar capacity.
  • Ability to maintain and preserve strict confidentiality.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office software applications (e.g. Excel and Word).
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees and departments.
  • Very good oral and written communication skills.
  • Very good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Attention to detail in all work areas.
  • Service-oriented.
  • Genuine interest in field and desire to advance in area.
