Accounting Associate (Internal Audit Experience) Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Associate with Internal Audit experience to join the BLEWSTREAM ECOSYSTEM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviewing Internal Controls: Ensuring that the company’s internal controls over financial reporting are effective and compliant with SOX requirements
• Testing Controls: Developing and executing test plans to assess the effectiveness of internal controls
• Documenting Processes: Documenting the company’s process flows, policies, and controls to ensure transparency and compliance
• Evaluating Financial Reporting: Assessing the accuracy and reliability of financial statements and disclosures
• Identifying Risks: Evaluating risk management processes to identify potential areas of fraud or misconduct
• Maintaining Records: Verifying that records are maintained and retained for an appropriate period as required by SOX
• Supporting Compliance: Assisting in the development and implementation of compliance programs to meet SOX requirements

 Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or ACCA, CPA, or CMA certification  
• Work Experience: Over 3 years of experience in internal audit
• Risk Assessment: Ability to identify and assess risks related to financial reporting and internal controls
• Communication Skills: Highly articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate financial data and identify discrepancies
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across departments
• Ethical Standards: Strong ethical standards and integrity in handling confidential information
• Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing regulations and work environments
• Legal Authorization: Legal authorization to work in Trinidad and Tobago
• Availability: Available to work full-time Monday through Friday

 Minimum Qualifications:

• Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of SOX compliance requirements, including internal controls and financial reporting standards, gained through hands-on experience or formal certification such as the Certified Sarbanes-Oxley Professional (CSOXP) is ideal
• Additional Work Experience: Four (4) years of experience in a general accounting role
• Software Proficiency: Experience with AuditBoard, Onspring, Diligent HighBond, Pathlock, or Vanta is ideal
