Accounting Assistant - Treasury

ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT – TREASURY DEPARTMENT
SALARY: $6000.00
LOCATION: ARIMA

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES 

  • Maintains and manages treasury files, bank records, financial logs, registers, spreadsheets and all other relevant documentation.
  • Completes bank reconciliations for Outlets.
  • Ensures that all cash management transactions are correctly recorded in the applicable treasury system.
  • Prepares stationery reports and costing related to deposits.
  • Completes inventory checks and orders stock, as required.
  • Verifies and posts details of transactions such as funds received and disbursed and total accounts.
  • Resolves customer complaints related to Linx payments.
  • Reconciles discrepancies in Outlet sales figures and deposits to ensure the accuracy of Sales Department spreadsheets is maintained.
  • Documents all daily cash transactions and communicates all previous day banking activities.
  • Batches and codes deposit bags for dispatch to the Outlets.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge: 
  • Understanding of accounting and cash management principles and practices
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (emphasis on Excel)
  • Cash Management principles and practices
  • Excellent numerical, written and oral communication skills
Ability to:
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Efficiently manage time while working in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Work with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency to meet deadlines
  • Work and deliver results in a multi-disciplined team environment
  • Critically analyse and solve problems
  EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum qualification of ACCA Level I (completed) or other equivalent certification  OR
  • A combination of relevant experience and qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ Accounting experience in a similar role for a medium to large organization
