We are seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the following position in the Inventory Control Department:

ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT – COSTING & INVENTORY 

This role is focused on continuously maintaining system integrity by ensuring accurate recording and inventory status of products; as well as to support the ongoing process and analysis of product costing.

 Major Responsibilities & Accountabilities:  

  • Retrieve all landed cost data from logistics, ensuring that all data is accurately captured and allocated in excel costing templates and sent for required approvals
  • Execute and Update all inventory transfer requests and stock adjustments on a daily basis as required
  • Ensure all inventory discrepancies at all locations are investigated, corrected, reconciled and recommendations are made on a daily basis, to allow for accurate and efficient movement of inventory as required
  • Update purchase orders with landing charges that will allow Warehouse to receive shipments (FLAG)
  • Release Purchase Orders for all locations
  • Compare receiver's report to approved costing sheet and calculate the landed cost of any discrepancies for logistics, make any required adjustments and distribute copies of receiver reports to respective Divisions daily
  • Investigate and Address queries from  all internal divisions and retail outlets, providing research, follow up and recommendations
  • Update third party Trade Purchase orders to VAI for non WMS locations.
  • Upload approved Costings on the Company’s system to be accessed by the respective divisions
  • Investigate and update all variances for inventory counts at Non WMS locations
  • Maintain an efficient digital filing system to allow for easy retrieval and processing
  • Provide support for all inventory counts at WMS & Non WMS locations

 Knowledge & Experience:

  • Completion of FIA/CAT / Level 1 ACCA or CIMA
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of an Accounting software package would be an asset
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Must be flexible, honest and reliable
