Our client in located in Port of Spain is seeking to fill the position of a Senior Accounting Assistant.
Salary range: Accountant- $14,000.00
BSc. Accounting and/or Level 2 ACCA
Job Purpose
To assist the business in making critical financial decisions by collecting, tracking, and analysing the company’s financial data.
Responsible for financial audits, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring financial records are accurate throughout the year.
Complies with the Company’s Food Safety policies and guidelines as well as all Health
Safety and Environmental regulations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- To assist in the preparation and analysis of reports that would allow for Management decision-making and planning
- Monthly preparation of the financial statements of the company’s operations
- Assist with Audit and analysis of the financial performance of the company
- Financial forecasting and risk analysis for the group
- Develop strategies to reduce cost ultimately leading to profit maximization
- Provide suggestions in respect to strategic decision-making on the company’s financial status overall, its cost efficiency, and effectiveness

- Review of Petty Cash
- Review of payments before uploaded on ACH
- Initiate and manage financial accounting systems and software

- Prepare sales analysis reporting – Projections reports, YOY analysis, Monthly and YTD Analysis

- Assist with any internal audit matters
- Assist in the management of the company’s working capital requirements
- Completing year end reporting and analysis
- Preparation and review of journal entries where applicable
- Supervise, manage, assist and review of work completed by AR and AP staff

- Review and approve receipts daily and ensure bank deposits are expeditiously in the coffers of the company’s account

- Assist and revie in the implementation of new policies and procedures\
- Review of statutory deductions before payments are made
- Review and authorizing of Sales Orders and Credit Notes
- Review of data entered into the system to ensure that it is accurately and timely recorded
- Any other strategic information or objectives that is required by Management
Experience and Qualifications
ACCA level 3 or its equivalent
At least 5 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment
