Accountant

The Business and Employment Centre is in search of a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join our client's team.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide financial insights by researching and analysing accounting data; preparing reports.
• Document financial transactions by entering account information.
• Audit documents to substantiate financial transactions.
• Guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
• Resolve financial discrepancies by analysing account information.
• Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
• Comply with local financial legal requirements by studying legislation and advising management.
• Collaborate with HR to manage payroll and pension programs.
• Coordinate approved training and development programs for accounting staff.
• Report incidents, accidents, and breaches of safety and standards promptly.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a CPA.   
• Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in accounting/finance.
• Knowledge of Great Plains Software (Microsoft Dynamics) would be considered an asset.
• Experience with financial reporting requirements.
• Experience working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency at Microsoft Office suite and basic technology literacy is essential.
