ACCOUNTANT - Remote

JOB OVERVIEW

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute and collaborate in various aspects of general accounting, financial reporting and analysis within a dynamic Group of Companies. This role will primarily focus on providing comprehensive support to the Finance Manager and Group Financial Controller in various accounting tasks. This position will play a crucial role in supporting our Group Consolidation, Group Reporting, General Sub-entity Accounting and Treasury Management functions. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience across multiple revenue streams, including the hospitality division, investments division, and banking division.

 

  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  
    • Prepare monthly management accounts, providing explanations to variances from budget and prior year results.
    • Produce key forecasting and budgeting reports.
    • Develop other key performance reports and financial reports to support senior management in decision-making.
    • Prepare and post journal entries for general financial accounting.
    • Process invoices for payment and monitor banking activities, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
    • Manage the fixed asset register, including properly accounting for fixed asset acquisitions, disposals and executing depreciation runs to accurately book monthly depreciation charges.
    • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and other variance reports.
    • Prepare audit schedules and provide ongoing support for Group audits including liaising directly with external auditors to resolve queries in a timely manner.
    • Draft key accounting and operational policies including mapping out accounting processes.
    • Keep abreast of IFRS updates and engage in accounting research to assist in streamlining reporting processes across the Group.
    • Assist in the implementation of accounting and reporting software.
    • Collaborate with other Group companies and participate in financial projects across the Group.
    • Conduct financial modeling and post-implementation performance tracking of projects.
    • Handle routine administrative tasks, including filing and document organization.
    • Provide other assistance to the department where necessary, to meet the overall objectives of the department and the vision of the Group.

 

  • QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Completed ACCA or pursuing level three ACCA (or CPA), having completed a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • At least four years’ work experience in an accounting environment.
  • Experience working on projects, playing a key role in investigating, validating and refining data would be an asset.
  • Experience mapping out processes using Microsoft Visio or a similar software will be an asset.
  • Internal auditing experience will be an asset.
  • Must have a reliable internet connection at all times during working hours.

    • Familiarity with using accounting software.

    • Strong and professional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders. 
  • Analytical Skills:
    • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Capacity to work with large datasets and extract meaningful insights.

    • Willingness to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
    • Flexible and adaptable to work in a busy environment.

Annual Salary:          USD $24,000 - $28,800
