To provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data, preparing reports, while ensuring compliance and organization excellence.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Compile and analyses monthly financial transactions in order to prepare management accounts
  • Prepare assets, liabilities and capital account entries in order to summarize and interpret the current position of the Company
  • Assist the CFO in the preparation of the Company’s year-end accounts for external auditors
  • Assist with the development of the policies and procedures to maximize and meet company obligations to its stakeholders
  • Review and approve petty cash vouchers to determine whether the individual transactions are reasonable prior to settlement
  • Evaluate insurable risk and develop procedures to minimize exposure
  • Negotiate and monitor insurance contracts
  • Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of the Company’s monthly payroll
  • Ensure that all proper checks and balances have been received on monthly journals, reports and bank statements
  • Assist with the Management of cash, loans and overdraft facilities with banks
  • Ensure that all statutory payments are made in a timely manner
  • Develop policies, procedures and systems to ensure the smooth operation of the department
  • Co-ordinate fiscal audits and negotiate settlement; Interpret rules of taxation and fiscal consolidation
  • Recommend financial action by analyzing the accounting options
  • Co-ordinate budget preparation
  • Maintain customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
  • Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, summarizing account information and trends
  • Assist in overseeing/managing the smooth running of the Payroll Department
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Accounting or Finance Degree
  • Professional Qualification in Accounting e.g ACCA/ CIMA/CGA/CA/CIMA or related discipline will be an asset
  • 5 years experience in similar position
  • Auditing Experience
  • Training with multi-user computer based accounting packages (Peach Tree, MYOB, ACCPAC)
