To support the Directors in developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Check incoming invoices and statements to ensure goods were invoiced correctly and were received.
  • Prepare cheque vouchers and cheques for signature, attaching supporting documents.
  • Prepare letters of instruction to bank (e.g. for foreign cash).
  • Enter invoices in Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable as required.
  • Enter receipts in QuickBooks- Accounts Receivable or General Accounts.
  • Maintain Petty Cash system.
  • Create journals and adjustments in QuickBooks. Make accruals as required.
  • Enter fee invoice and receipt information on Fee Forecast Sheets.
  • Provide Financial Statements, Payables and Receivables listings as required.
  • Prepares the payroll, PAYE/Health Surcharge, NIS and VAT returns.
  • Complete TD4 slips annually and distribute them to staff.
  • Collate and prepare the end-of-year Tax Planning chart.
  • Ensure that all available financial agreements (Contracts for Service with Clients) are obtained and maintained in accordance with the agreement
  • Annual preparation of the Professional Indemnity Insurance Proposal for Director Approval.
  • Run payroll program each month, making necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure that appropriate schedules, such as Pre-payments, Fixed Asset, Depreciation and reimbursable are maintained and that relative entries are passed when required
  • Any other related duties as  required

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • First Degree in Accounting or equivalent professional qualification eg. ACCA level II or Level III.
  • At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in an accounting environment.
  • Working knowledge and experience of Peachtree Accounting Software will be an asset


KNOWLEDGE AND OTHER SKILLS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Working knowledge of Peachtree Accounting Software
  • Excellent Interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Excellent Organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Good written, oral communication and report writing skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
