The Accountant is responsible for the preparation of monthly Reports in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, generally accepted accounting principles and International Financial Reporting Standards for use in financial performance review and planning.

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following

  1. Maintain and manage relationships with key suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  2. Oversee the end-to-end AP process, including invoice verification, approval and payment including the reconciliation of key suppliers.
  3. Verification of contractor timesheets & cost.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records in the accounting system.
  5. Assist in the period end closing process and related reporting.
  6. Various financial and cost analyses for driving continuous improvement across all aspects of the business;
  7. Possess the ability to develop and in-depth understanding of the production environment.
  8. Knowledge of cost and management accounting principles;
  9. Proactively prepare various cost information for Management for purpose of decision-making.

 

 

Additional responsibilities include participation in projects that improve efficiency, safety and/or operating costs and interacting with management to meet the information needs of the organization. Demonstrated excellent communication skills written and verbal, ability to effectively explain and present information.  Proven motivator of self and learn with an emphasis on continual improvement.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience processing a large number of Accounts Payable Invoices, who demonstrate an understanding of all the functions in the accounting department, and who are willing to apply their business knowledge to the work

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Full ACCA/CPA qualification; CIMA/Master’s degree in Accounting will be considered.
  2. Minimum of five (5)  to eight (8) years accounting experience as an Accountant.
  3. Strong cost accounting acumen (creating and analyzing with the use of accounting systems and spreadsheets).
  1. An equivalent combination of training & experience may also be considered.
  2. Advanced  knowledge in Microsoft Office
