Overview:

Our client is one of the longest established Real-Estate organizations in Barbados. Due to growth, they are seeking to employ a proven professional to add to the team. The focus of this role is to effectively manage various operational functions of financial management and accounting to ensure accuracy is achieved and the integrity of the financial system is maintained for the various entities controlled and/or managed by the Company.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the operations of the Accounts Department and assist with the training of team members.
  • Manage the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Ensure statutory compliance for VAT, NIS, PAYE and Corporate Income Tax.
  • Assist with preparation and inputting of budgets.
  • Complete administration of the Cash Management process.
  • Manage foreign currency cash floats against schedules.
  • Review of all bank reconciliations monthly for all bank accounts.
  • Monitor Monthly reconciliation of US Cash account against US Cash Float.
  • Prepare or co-ordinate the preparation of various audit schedules as necessary and communicate with external auditors. Act as primary contact for operations for the annual audit.
  • Manage the month-end close process with the support of the Manager.
  • Ensure monthly reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Manage the Accounting Software process.
  • Upload Accounting Software files monthly to QuickBooks.
  • Review and supervise the filing of Shared Economy Levy and any future government- imposed taxes against legislation to ensure on time filing and accurate record keeping.
  • Review various accounting reports for Management and take the appropriate action as directed.
  • Coordinate and prepare ad hoc reporting required by clients and/or management.
  • Assist with managing key clients, supplier and other stakeholder relationships.

 

Requirements:

  • Completion or at an advanced stage of accounting designation (e.g. ACCA, CGA/CPA, etc.)
  • Good working knowledge of QuickBooks.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in preparing financials.
  • And experience managing a finance/accounting team.
