Accountant (Distribution Sector)

Join a leading household name in Barbados as a Senior Accountant, overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, and team leadership.

Overview: Our client is a “household name” establishment in Barbados. As one of the longest established distribution, manufacturing and retail organisations, they have a reputation for customer satisfaction. Due to growth, they are seeking to add a proven professional to the finance team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare, examine, and analyse accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports.
  
• Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including payables, receivables, and general ledger.
  
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and financial standards.
  
• Assist with audits, budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting.
  
• Collaborate with internal teams to optimize financial processes and ensure smooth operation of financial systems.
  
• Supervise the Accounting team.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

• At least a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  
• ACCA designation or equivalent.
  
• 3 years’ experience in a leadership accounting role.
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Word and other relevant accounting software.
  
• Excellent knowledge of statutory financial regulations and requirements.
  
• Must possess strong leadership, interpersonal, problem solving, communication and analytical skills.
  
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
  
• Well organized, efficient and decisive.
