Accountant (1-year contract)

Our client is seeking an Accountant to efficiently execute accounting tasks, prepare financial reports, manage statutory requirements, and liaise with key stakeholders to support organizational goals.

JOB OPPORTUNITY

ACCOUNTANT – (1-year contract)

Location: Port of Spain

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or ACCA certification
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting within a private sector environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Cultural sensitivity to the diverse realities of Trinidad and Tobago

 Duties & Responsibilities:

• Execute all accounting functions, including accounts receivable, collections, invoicing, and accounts payable
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management accounts, and statutory payments (NIS, PAYE, VAT, etc.)
• Handle salary processing, bank reconciliations, and financial analysis tasks such as depreciation schedules
• Administer staff health and annuity plans and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and bank representatives
• Perform other duties as directed by the Executive Director and Board
