An access control officer is responsible for controlling access and egress (exiting) of authorized people and vehicles. Limiting the number of entrances and exits, or by implementing other measures to ensure that only authorized individuals have access.
The Principal Functions:
1. To ensure the building and premises are safe and secured from any acts of theft or acts of violence.
2. Routinely check vehicles and/or persons entering the premises to ensure the safety of the premises and personnel.
3. To prevent the entry of unauthorized persons and prohibited items in restricted areas.
4. To maintain a logbook of every person entering/exiting the premises, the relevant times and the purpose of their visit.
5. Conduct routine checks of the premises and reports any unusual activities.
6. To open and close the main entry/exit points and ensure the security systems are operational at the beginning and end of each day as necessary.
7. To assist the local police service in cases such as emergencies, thefts, or acts of violence.
8. To aid personnel on the premises in relocating to Muster Point in cases of fire or natural disasters as necessary.
9. To answer the emergency alarms with immediate effect, and to inform the respective department (such as fire department in cases of fire) right away.
10. Any other functions that are related to the duties stated above.
