The incumbent in this position assumes responsibility for the proper recording of accounting information consistent with accounting standards, ensuring compliance with proper accounting and control procedures.

Accounting Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare related monthly management reports for submission to the Senior Management.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations of US$ and J$.
  • Prepare monthly suppliers reconciliation for major US$ and J$ suppliers.
  • Prepare monthly audit schedules based on assigned listing.
  • Assist in the preparation of month end journals.
  • Prepare monthly credit card reconciliations for All accounts.
  • Prepare Daily Cash Requirements so as to ensure the company meets its cash-flow projections.   
  • Ensure that all transactions (sales and daily cash lodgements) are captured and reported within the general ledger on a timely basis.
  • Ensure supplier balances are kept within the credit limit and period.
  • Prepare Monthly  Statutory Returns.
  • Prepare weekly Petty Cash Report.
  • Preparation of Monthly salary deduction report.
  • Ensure Proper Filing system is maintained.
  • Conduct quarterly and annual inventory counts.
  • Prepare company returns.
  • Assist in annual financial audits.

Qualification and Other Requirements:

  • ACCA level II or equivalent qualifications from a recognised institution
  • At least (2) years experience in a similar capacity
  • Good organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate well (both in written and oral formats) with all levels of staff
  • Must be an excellent team player
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite and tools (i.e. Excel, Word)
  • Knowledge of Arcos is an asset
