ACCOUNTING CLERK
Job Summary:
The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for a range of general clerical, accounting and bookkeeping duties in support of the accounting operation. This includes keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and conducting reconciliations.
Specific Duties:
- Maintain accounting database; update documents and records.
- File documents; make paper and electronic copies.
- Perform accounting and clerical functions to support supervisors.
- Prepare reports as necessary.
- Issue checks for accounts payable.
- Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and inputting data.
- Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, savings, deductions, etc.
- Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes and other deductions.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Provide payroll information by responding to questions and requests.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- At least 5 CXC/GCE subjects including English Language and Math/Accounts; Associate’s Degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Proven accounting experience to include that of an Accounts Payable Clerk.
- Competency in Microsoft Office, databases and accounting software.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets.

ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT
Job Summary:
The Assistant Accountant performs routine financial duties to support the company’s accounting system; works as a part of an accounting team and reports to the Head of Finance.
Specific duties:
- Manages the petty cash fund
- Processes payroll
- Ensures that payroll is actioned in a timely manner
- Prepares payroll taxes
- Posts Payroll to Accounting System
- Manages purchasing process to include adequate quotations
- Prepares purchase orders based on requisitions
- Posts Suppliers Invoices
- Prepares checks for signature
- Mails vendor cheques
- Reconciles, posts and ensures credit card payments
- Posts utility bills and prepares payments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or a related field
- ACCA/CPA designation would be an asset.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting.
Required Competencies:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English including proper grammar.
