JOB SUMMARY:

ACCOUNTANT FOR CHARITABLE ORGANISATION 

The accountant will work closely with the Board to streamline and ensure that all finance and accounting tasks are completed in a timely fashion.

 

Provides accounting and bookkeeping support and supervision.

Develops procedures and processes to ensure efficient and effective financial data in a timely manner.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and improve financial information, systems, policies, and controls. 
  • Supervise Accounts Payables function and approve all payment disbursements.
  • Supervise cash transactions.
  • Supervise payroll function and ensure payments relate to contracts.
  • Review and approve transactions posted into the Accounting Software
  • Preparation annual operating and capital budgets
  • Review and approve transactions posted into the Accounting Software
  • Review and supervise all statutory filings for compliance as per regulatory requirements.  
  • Manage and review contracts on major capital expenditure projects.

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience in bookkeeping and accounting and a minimum of five (5) years’ supervisory experience.
  • Qualified Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) or equivalent or related accounting qualification.
  • Working knowledge QuickBooks software or are generally familiar with accounting software.
  • Demonstrates good leadership and management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
