The Account Manager – Client Relations is to be the primary support to the Senior Account Manager, Client Relations in overseeing a portfolio of customers, driving best practices and service, while increasing customer satisfaction and business retention.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Conduct awareness sessions to ensure understanding of plan benefits and utilization.
  • Conduct Plan Administrator training to ensure understanding of benefits and service processes.
  • Effectively communicate and engage with external customers to ensure quality service delivery at all times
  • Monitor premium status of plans and liaise with plan administrators to ensure that premiums are remitted in accordance with collections procedure.
  • Resolve escalated queries through available systems or via personnel within responsible departments.
  • Act as a liaison between BEACON and Group clients/brokers/agents to ensure insureds are adequately educated about their Group benefits
  • Act as a liaison between BEACON and Group clients/brokers/agents to ensure plan administrators are adequately educated about their Group benefits & processes.
  • Conduct Soft Underwriting review of new business proposals for submission to Underwriting team.
  • Prepare, collate and review service performance reports for discussion with clients and/or producers.
KEY TECHNICAL COMPENTENCIES:
  • Knowledge and understanding of the core principles of insurance and how this is applied on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ability to develop and conduct presentations to a wide variety of audiences using a presentation package such as Power Point.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the range of insurance products and services available in the market.
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements and how to meet these on a day-to-day basis. 
  • knowledge of how claims should be handled and managed.
  • Knowledge of how claims should be handled and managed.
  • Strong ability to listen actively, think under pressure, articulate their point of view, and compromise where applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales or Business Administration.
  • An MBA would be considered an asset.
  • LOMA certifications in Life and/or Group Insurance will be considered an asset.
  • ACS certification in Life and /or Group Insurance will be considered and asset.
  • Three (3) years prior experience in the sales and /or services industry.
  • Two to three  (2-3) years of client/account management experience and EB Health and Life Products, services and operational processes.
  • One (1) or more years of experience in providing high level support to executives.
