Overseeing and performing a wide range of mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks on various vehicles and equipment

An Enterprice Group located in the British Virgin Islands is seeking to hire a Senior Mechanic. The Senior Mechanic will be responsible for overseeing and performing a wide range of mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks on various vehicles and equipment for our group companies. This role requires a deep understanding of automotive systems, diesel engines, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent leadership skills to guide and mentor mechanics.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Perform complex mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks on vehicles, including but not limited to diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.

2. Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.

3. Develop repair plans and provide accurate estimates of repair costs and timelines.

4. Oversee and guide mechanics in performing repairs and maintenance tasks.

5. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure vehicles and equipment are in optimal working condition.

6. Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance tasks, and parts inventory.

7. Stay up-to-date with advancements in automotive technology and repair techniques.

8. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all repair and maintenance activities.

9. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate repair and maintenance schedules.

10. Assist in training mechanic team and providing ongoing support and guidance.

 

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a mechanic, with at least 10 years of experience in automotive repair.

2. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, automotive systems and components.

3. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.

4. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

5. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

6. Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.

7. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

8. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

9. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

10. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

11. Certification/Degree from a recognized automotive training program or equivalent experience.
