Warehouse Supervisor

Primary objective of the job:

Responsible for the direct management and handling of all warehousing and distribution

functions at the organization’s warehouse # 1 facility.  This includes accountability for

inbound and outbound freight as well as adherence to legislation, safety and

organizational policies and procedures.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of goods
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employees performance
  •  Organize and maintain inventory and storage area
  • Vehicle Dispatch
  • Ensure vehicles and loaded items are safe and secured
  • Check off Returned Vehicle
  • Maintain a tidy warehouse/assembly area
  • Supervise assembly/delivery teams
  • Process orders and invoices in CRM
  • Tend to customers/bearers
  • Prepare warehouse receival receipts (Returns)
  • Liaise with internal and external customers
  • Ensure all delivery vehicle depart no later than 10:30 am.
  • Ensure proper storage of stock items
  • Ensure inventory can be counted and verified
  • Enforce the code of conduct as outlined by the company
  • Identify and report any variation of physical count versus inventory report
Academic qualifications & experience required for the job:
  • First Degree in logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration
  • Two years working experience in a similar capacity
  • At least two years managing people
Functional skills:
  • Proven work experience as a Warehouse Supervisor
  • Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques
  • Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency
  • Ability to input, retrieve and analyse data
  • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to analyse data, solve problems and exercise good judgement
