Warehouse Delivery Clerk

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

• Ensure that goods are dispatched with an accurate invoice and an approved departure log accounting for all the invoices.  Any variances discovered upon dispatching the trucks are to be corrected immediately so that the customer receives an accurate invoice.
• Communicate picking problems to management, for example out of stock items appearing on pick list, near-expired products etc.
• Ensure that goods in the dispatch area are accounted for (labeled boxes or pallets with customer details etc.) and accompanied by relative invoices and ensures that all next-deliveries are dispatched as soon as possible, the same day or as arrangements permit.
• Assist with planning the daily routing of delivery trucks in order to achieve effective and efficient delivery in line with the Company’s delivery time policy.
• Dispatch delivery trucks effectively (ensures that collection and documents of Driver on previous trip was up to date) and efficiently adhering to the delivery time objective of the Company.
• Communicate with Delivery Supervisor, Sales personnel and Delivery truckers on any issues which may arise with deliveries or the scheduling of trucks.
• Log in contracted truck payment incurred daily with required details.
• Assist with stocktaking exercises with listing of information such as: Invoiced but not delivered, “Picked but not invoiced” or any other information.
• Ensure that all pink copy of invoices is matched with the yellow copy upon return of trucks, to indicate that deliveries were accounted for in accordance with delivery policies of the Company.
• Swiftly forward complete delivery documents, after having checked them for flagging and filing (ensure that all RTS requirements are met).
• Check and match all invoices and departure logs upon return of the trucks so that deliveries and none deliveries can be accounted for. For example, account for all short deliveries with deductions from Drivers account.
• Ensure that “returns to stock” credit and any other delivery related credit request are processed swiftly and accurately according to account receivables and inventory policies of the Company.  Give detailed reason for any “request for credit”.
• Ensure that Porters/Drivers/Loaders cooperate with the Storage Clerk in order to identify out of stock items, keep lanes and work environment clean at all times and any other assistance required on the floor.
• Ensure timely delivery of all orders to customers.
• Ensure that delivery documents are kept safe on the desk. Do not allow unauthorized persons in office or around working desk.
• Ensure that office desk/dispatch area is kept tidy and clean and health and safety requirements are met.
• Performs any other functions that Management may from time to time assign to this post.
