WELDER/FABRICATOR

Welder/Fabricator to conduct repairs and modifications on heavy machinery.

Required Experience

• Experience performing Welding repairs on Heavy Equipment
• Experience repairing shafts for power transfer and appropriate rod selection depending on the application
• Proficient at MIG, SMAW, OXY fuel cutting, brass brazing
• Producing weldments as per drawing or design
• Use of OXY fuel cutting torch for gouging broken fastners, shafts, pins, bearing races etc.
• Use of OXY fuel torch for heating, cutting, gouging on close fitting parts
• Proficient at welding stainless steel, mild steel, cast iron
• Can perform welded repairs in all positions: flat, vertical and overhead
• Proficient in use of grinders, chop saws, plasma cutters and drills, in order to fabricate structures, brackets, parts, shields/guards as per design
• Can perform structural welding on load bearing parts of machinery
