We are seeking a dedicated Vegetable Processing Supervisor to lead and guide the team in our vegetable processing department. If you're passionate about food production, have strong leadership skills, and are committed to maintaining quality and efficiency, we’d love to welcome you to our team!

Reports to: Production Manager

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Process orders and estimate the amount and frequency of products to meet demands.
  • Manage and train vegetable processing employees to adhere to processing and quality standards.
  • Maintains time and processing records. This includes, but is not limited to, all related variance, labour, and processing reports.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
  • Assist in developing and implementing quality assurance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the processing procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of vegetables.
  • Coordinate with other departments to meet processing deadlines.
  • Implement cost control measures to minimise waste.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on vegetables to ensure freshness
  • Ensure proper maintenance and operation of processing equipment.
  • Report any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety-related issues to Management.
  • Maintain all logs for inventory control and ordering of supplies.
  • Monitor staff performance to provide constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Implement team building and conflict resolution strategies that create a harmonious working environment.
  • Any other duty that may be assigned

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Certification in Food Processing/Technology/Engineering
  • Two (2) years’ experience in similar role

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT(S)

  • Proven experience as a supervisor
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Formal training or certification in Food Processing
