The Trade Activation Coordinator shall report to the Commercial Supervisor and shall be responsible for achieving the defined commercial objectives as identified for their assigned. cluster of customers.  This entails the development and implementation of all Commercial Strategies. The role will also be responsible for Customer Relationship Management aimed at forging strategic partnerships. The Trade Activation Coordinator will embrace the Company’s vision while living and promoting the Company’s core operating values. 

Responsible for but not limited to: - 

  • Delivering a high level of gold star customer service to all customers
  • Visiting each customer, as per outlined routines, to ensure a high level of visit frequency to the assigned accounts.
  • Taking the lead in advancing strong trade relationships through the creation of joint business plans to promote and foster the concept of strategic partnerships with their assigned accounts.  
  • Responsible for achieving Sales Volume, Portfolio Coverage and Portfolio Penetration in the assigned accounts.  
  • Collaborating with the Sales and Marketing teams to develop and implement commercial programs aimed at generating incremental volume within their assigned accounts.  
  • Responsible for managing, monitoring, and evaluating commercial initiatives and investments executed to determine the level of success versus set objectives, and provide recommendations for future programs. 
  • Identifying new and developing existing sales opportunities including expanding the available portfolio, launching of new products, and increasing SOVI and SOCI with the negotiation, placement and positioning of cold equipment and racks within assigned accounts. 
  • Executing continuous merchandising audits and corrective actions to achieve and maintain the set assigned ICE Score for customers in your charge. 
  • Educating the customers on the importance of effective merchandising and the role it can play in generating greater volume and revenue for their outlet i.e. minimizing stock outs, overstocking and expired or damaged products. 
  • Playing a key role in the TPM process to achieve and maintain the assigned Quality score expectations through monitoring the freshness and other quality deliverables. 
  • Conducting continuous trade audits and reports on trade pricing (company owned and competitive), direct and indirect competitor activities, and general trade trends. 
  • Assisting in ensuring that the Company develops and maintains the most complete database of all customers and asset placements. 
  • Documenting all activity weekly via the assigned tracking tools and use this information to discuss improvements with their supervisor. 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Associate degree or Diploma in Marketing, Sales or Management and 1 years’ experience
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in Sales, Marketing, Customer Service or related fields. 
  • Prior knowledge/experience in the beverage industry and cold chain products would be an asset. 

Skills/Core Competencies

  • A sound understanding of Sales, Marketing and Key Account management. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to make influential presentations to small audiences.  
  • Computer literate (proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software). 
  • Strong Sales, Trade, Shopper, and Customer Marketing background within the FMCG industry. 
  • A strong record of creating a winning vision in an environment where there is a strong emphasis on merchandising, promotion, and partnerships. 
  • Proven success working in a fast-paced environment where strategic brand-building efforts are complemented by hard-driving   promotional activities. 
  • Excellent prioritizing and time management skills.  
  • Good customer service skills. 
  • Detail oriented. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours. 
  • Experience in working in unionized environments is essential.
