Position: Technician and Maintenance Specialist
Reports To: Director/Senior Management
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: 120-180k/Month
Structure: Base, Commissions and incentives.

Job Summary:

The Technician and Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems. This role ensures the optimal functioning of machinery, tools, and systems, contributing to smooth operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation and Setup:
• Install and configure equipment and systems according to specifications and guidelines.
• Ensure proper functioning of newly installed equipment through testing and troubleshooting.
2. Preventive Maintenance:
• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime.
• Identify potential issues and address them proactively.
3. Assessment and Troubleshooting:
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic failures.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
4. Repair and Workflow Processes:
• Develop and implement efficient repair and maintenance workflows to optimize productivity.
• Monitor and adjust work processes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of tasks.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and installations.
• Report any recurrent issues or necessary upgrades to Management and Team members.
• Recommend and create additional reporting methods and systems to improve process efficiency and integrity.
6. Safety and Compliance:
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks.
• Ensure that all equipment complies with safety and regulatory standards.

7. Inventory Management:
• Manage and maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and supplies needed for maintenance and repair activities.
• Order new supplies and parts as required, maintaining an optimal stock level.
8. Team Collaboration:
• Work collaboratively with other team members and departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Provide training and support to junior technicians as needed.
9. Continuous Improvement:
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Suggest improvements and innovations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Education: Diploma/Degree in Technical or Electrical fields.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in similar roles.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
• Certifications: CXC, Heart (NVQ-J), Degree or equivalent.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, strong communication skills, ability to work independently and in a team, good time management. Proficient in Microsoft suite and other Technical Software.
• Drivers Licence with minimum 3 years’ experience

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
• Capable of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in various environments, including heights and confined spaces.

Work Environment:

• The role may require working in shifts, including nights and weekends and/or Holidays
• Warehouse, workshop and remote locations.
