About the Role

The technician(s) will report to senior engineers at Wigton Phase I and Wigton Phase III and will:

1.Maintain a culture of safety.

2. Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on wind turbines, solar installations and high voltage equipment.
3. Troubleshoot Electrical, Mechanical and Hydraulic issues.
4. Perform monitoring and switching exercise for the plant substations.
5. Complete weekly maintenance, and bi-yearly turbine service reports and other reports as required.
6. Assist with Balance of Plant such as building, roads, facilities maintenance and projects.
7. Assist in implementation of systems for improvements of operations.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Academic Qualification, Knowledge and Competence and Requested Experience:

• Associate’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, from a recognized institution
• Or a HEART Certificate in:
  • Electrical Installation
  • Renewable Energy Technology
  • In advance, or during the job training, the employee will be required to obtain specific safety certifications such as the Global Wind Organization (GWO) Certificate.
  • Solar design and or installation experience and skills are also an asset.

• Industrial Plant Electrical Maintenance
• Industrial Plant Mechanical Maintenance

• At least one (1) year related work experience in a similar capacity.
