Interested persons are invited to apply for the position of Technical Support Analyst within the Information Technology Department.

 Job Purpose: 

The Technical Support Analyst, Core Banking oversees and verifies that the Company’s core banking infrastructure is efficient and operational at all times and ensures integrity of the company’s data and prevent unauthorized access. The incumbent will provide guidance and support on operational issues and problems associated with the performance and availability of the core banking system or related resources.

 Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots software related problems and provides technical and programming support for all business functions required on core banking platform
  • Liaises with core banking system vendor support desk to troubleshoot software problems
  • Analyses data mining requirements and recommends improvements to existing systems to ensure that business needs are met
  • Provides Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity support in the event of system outages
  • Verifies that the core banking infrastructure is operational at all times and conducts system backup and restores
  • Assists in the evaluation and implementation of Technology solutions
  • Assists in the installation and configuration of software
  • Maintains the integrity and security of core banking platform
  • Maintains and create all core banking systems user documentation
  • Conducts user acceptance testing on all new programs and modifications prior to roll out
  • Assists in providing users with IT training suitable to their functions
  • Verifies that users achieve adequate levels of competency in their use of the company’s systems
  • Execute and deliver all end of period processing and reporting
  • Oversees and create, modify and maintains of all queries on the core banking platform
  • Provide as required reports and or documents for audits (internal and external) in keeping specific timeframes
  • Assists in the research, evaluation and deployment of new IT solutions both hardware and software
  • Makes recommendations for the improvement of IT operations

 Job Skills: 

  • Substantial knowledge of Core Banking Application software, all leading-edge technologies & tools
  • Substantial knowledge of the IBM ISeries hardware and operating systems.
  • Substantial knowledge of IT concepts, data management systems and internal processes
  • Specialist knowledge of project management techniques and tools
  • Specialist knowledge of programming languages and techniques
  • Expert computer proficiency, with working knowledge of Microsoft office suite of products
  • Specialist reliability and dependability skills
  • Specialist communication skills
  • Specialist teamworking skills
  • Specialist decision making skills
  • Specialist ability to remain flexible
  • Specialist ability to perform in a high stress and high-pressure environment

 Minimum Requirements:

  • BSc Information technology or equivalent certification.
  • 3 years’ experience in IT Systems Operations Systems Analysis & Design, IBM ISeries and XSeries servers, Programming RPG and Linux
