Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, seeks a Technical Service Representative to join its industry leading sales team.  You’ll be perform a variety of services at customer accounts aimed at satisfying a specific Service Plan built with input from the Sales District. You will have a wide scope that attempts to balance the role of maintenance technician, relative to repair and installation of chemical feed and control equipment, with entry level skills in trouble shooting and sustaining control of the chemical programs through testing and interpretation.

What You Will Do:

  • Full responsibility for executing the tasks outlined in the Service Plan as planned.
  • Accurately performs water testing as outlined in the Service Plan.
  • Uses test results to adjust or recommend adjustment of chemical feed levels and operating parameters to maintain chemical residuals within the assigned control ranges.
  • Maintains operational integrity of chemical feed and control systems if Nalco owned or Nalco contracted to maintain.
  • Trains plant operators on test procedures and trouble-shooting chemical feed equipment.
  • With input and guidance from the Sales Representative develops skill in writing basic service reports (PSRs).
  • Executes start-up, shutdown and maintenance tasks in accordance with written procedures approved by the Sales Representative/District Manager.
  • Records and reports any operational incidents that may impact Nalco results.
  • Is accountable for undertaking all safety training to become and remain in compliance with Nalco corporate safety directives.
  • Takes initiative to upgrade personal skill sets and abilities.
  • Learns how to obtain, clarify and understand customer’s requirements and needs. Uses this information to refine the Service Plan with Sales personnel.
  • Exhibits cooperative, professional and courteous attitude to build win-win solutions with customers and other Nalco personnel.
  • Effectively utilizes people and company resources to resolve issues that are not clearly understood.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel as required

 

Territory/Location Information: 

Candidates live in the Montego Bay, Negril and Ocho Rios areas

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current driver's license and a good traffic record - record will be requested as part of the pre-offer screening
  • Live in one of the following locations: Montego Bay, Negril, or Ocho Rios
  • Availability of schedules to attend contingencies
  • Ability to communicate appropriately in varying customer and internal business settings.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude (ability to understand process flow). Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems a definite asset.
  • Hands-on ability to install, maintain and repair chemical feed and control equipment. (Or aptitude to learn).
  • Ability to recognize problems and communicate to Team.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn/improve skills required.
  • Ability to use both written and verbal means to clearly communicate with other Nalco personnel.
  • Demonstrates a curiosity to learning
  • 1-3 years experience in similar work environments.
  • High school diploma required. Associate degree or trade certification preferred.
