Senior Maintenance Engineer-Mechanical (CMI)

The Senior Maintenance Engineer (SME) directs, coordinates and performs condition monitoring and inspection activities, on assigned plant or across the Division, to achieve maintenance performance targets in accordance with Department objectives.

Job Summary

The Senior Maintenance Engineer (SME) directs, coordinates and performs condition monitoring and inspection activities, on assigned plant or across the Division, to achieve maintenance performance targets in accordance with Department objectives. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develops, coordinates and directs equipment preventive, condition monitoring and reliability engineering programs to ensure activities are carried out in accordance with schedule, budget and specifications.
• Assists in the development and implementation of maintenance and inspection policies for equipment modifications/upgrades, as well as long term planning inclusive of end of life and repair or replace decisions, to ensure successful lifecycle management of major/critical plant equipment and assets.
• Identifies and mitigates plant threats by the development and implementation of Condition Monitoring programs and analysis of trends, to ensure a proactive approach to resolving identified issues.
• Reviews and prepares accurate and timely reliability reports based on completed inspections and analysis, to ensure learnings are captured and facilitates implementation of any recommendations to address/avoid identified issues.
• Directs, coordinates and performs the annual review of the planned maintenance and inspection programs, as well as equipment audits to ensure improvements are made to achieve future maintenance targets.
• Coordinates and provides in-depth analysis, troubleshooting and diagnostic inspection of plant equipment and determines problem root causes and recommends solutions, to ensure issues are resolved in a competent and timely manner.
• Complies with all company policies, procedures, rules, regulations and statutory requirements to help establish and maintain a productive, safe and compliant working environment which achieves set goals through key performance indicators.
• Directs, coordinates and supervises activities for Turnarounds, Outages and abnormal situations to achieve department and Company objectives.
• Directs, coordinates and supervises other work-related duties required for the maintenance of the plant(s)’ assets, in accordance with department objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in a process plant environment.
• Experience in vibration analysis and troubleshooting of rotating equipment utilizing handheld and continuous monitoring equipment and systems.
• Experience in static equipment inspections inclusive of but not limited to pressure vessel, piping, storage tank, safety relief systems and a working knowledge of the associated applicable industry codes, standards and recommended practices.
