Our client, an organisation in the Retail Sector is seeking to fill the position of Senior Executive, Human Resources.

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Executive, Human Resources (SEHR) is responsible for supporting business objectives, including but not limited to, developing long-term strategies for human capital management. This position plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the HR function and involves strategic planning, leadership and execution of all HR initiatives to support the company’s goals and objectives.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organisation's objectives. Provide guidance and leadership in all areas of human resources, including talent acquisition, performance management, training, and employee relations.
  • Responsible for systems, policies and procedures that improve business effectiveness and transformation.
  • Ensure a robust change management framework is in place for all transformational projects.
  • Oversee recruitment strategies, ensuring the organisation attracts and retains top talent.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to define job requirements, lead recruitment efforts, and foster a positive candidate experience.
  • Implement programmes for employee coaching and training, career development, and performance management. Create succession plans to ensure a pipeline of skilled and qualified employees for key roles.
  • Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Ensure adherence to employment laws and maintain a culture of fairness and equity.
  • Handle complex employee relations and industrial relations matters and provide guidance to managers on conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
  • Manage and facilitate relationships between employers, employees and recognised unions to promote harmonious labour relations, negotiate, resolve disputes, and ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain positive labour relations strategies.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel and senior management to draft, review, and implement labour contracts and agreements.
  • Collaborate with the compensation team to design competitive salary structures, benefits packages, and incentive programs to attract and retain top talent while ensuring cost-effectiveness for the organisation.
  • Utilise HR data and analytics to make informed decisions, track key HR metrics, and provide reports to senior leadership regarding HR performance and initiatives

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • First Degree in Human Resources or Business Management.
  • MBA or Masters in Human Resources will be considered an asset.
  • HR Professional Certification or Change Management Certification will be considered an asset.
  • Seven (7) – ten (10) years’ experience in Strategic Human Resources Management or experience working in a similar role.
  • Experience with HRIS or other HR related software will be considered an asset.
  • Good understanding of Labour Laws and Regulations.
