Senior Accountant (Technology Sector)

 

Overview: Our client is a well-established provider of robust I.T Solutions to major corporations across the Caribbean. Due to growth, they are seeking to appoint a Senior Accountant to assist Senior Management with financial services based in the Barbados office.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Achievement of financial and other targets as determined, to include the preparation and submission of accurate financial reports in agreed timelines.

· Monitor expenditures and revenues against appropriate budgets.

· Monitor all financial reports from the general and subsidiary ledges and assist in reconciliation and summary data reports.

· Prepare monthly financial reports, monitor workflow, review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures.

· Preparing of revenue projections and forecasting expenditure

· Liaise with FCs in region for monthly, quarterly and annual reports.

· Prepare sensitivity assessments on company products.

· Conduct analysis to assess potential risks.

· Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance

· Participate in the development and administration of company budgets, direct the monitoring of and approve expenditures, making recommendations to the Business Unit Head.

 

· To remain current with accounting standards and ensure the delivery of quality service to the Unit’s customers/clients in accordance with established standards, policies and business practices.

· Ensures strict confidentiality of financial records.

· Ensure the delivery of quality service to customers/clients in accordance with established standards, policies and business practices.

· Ensure compliance to Health and Safety standards and practices in accordance with company policy and legislation.

· Ensure compliance to record-keeping, reporting and time-tracking requirements, similarly for subordinates. Annual budget preparation

· Analysis and preparation of monthly financial reports

· Monthly reconciliations

 

 

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

 

· ACCA/CGA qualification

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and sound knowledge of Accounting Systems

· At least four years’ experience in an operational accounting environment, two (2) of which should have included the preparation of final accounts.

· Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise commensurate levels of initiative and judgment.

· Excellent communication and inter-personal relationship skills

· Excellent planning, organizing and time management skills.

· Strong presentation skills

· Leadership Skills

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Ability to coordinate, delegate, motivate and mentor.
