PURPOSE OF JOB

This role is to maintain the safety and security of personnel, customers, assets, and premises in compliance with security best practices and regulatory requirements. 

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide effective leadership, guidance, and supervision to security personnel across all locations. 
  • Delegate tasks, set performance expectations, and conduct regular performance evaluations to ensure high standards of professionalism and efficiency. 
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, morale, and a strong sense of responsibility among team members. 
  • Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols tailored to the specific needs and risks of each location. 
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with security standards and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Coordinate security measures and resources across multiple sites to ensure comprehensive coverage and effective response capabilities. 
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments for each location to identify potential security vulnerabilities, threats, and risks. 
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, including physical security measures, access control protocols, and emergency response plans. 
  • Stay updated on emerging security threats, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements to proactively address security challenges. 
  • Establish and enforce access control measures to regulate entry and exit points, restrict unauthorized access, and safeguard sensitive areas and assets. 
  • Monitor access control systems, including badge readers, keypads, and biometric scanners, to ensure proper functionality and compliance with security policies. 
  • Implement surveillance measures, such as CCTV cameras and alarm systems, to enhance site security and deter criminal activity. 
  • Develop comprehensive emergency response plans for each location, addressing various scenarios such as natural disasters, security breaches, medical emergencies, and fires. 
  • Conduct regular training and drills to ensure security personnel are prepared to respond effectively to emergencies and manage crisis situations. 
  • Coordinate with external agencies, including law enforcement, emergency services, and regulatory authorities, to facilitate a timely and coordinated response to incidents. 
  • Build positive relationships with customers, employees, and other stakeholders to enhance trust, cooperation, and collaboration in security-related matters.
  • Address security concerns and inquiries from customers and stakeholders in a professional and responsive manner, demonstrating a commitment to their safety and well-being. 
  • Maintain accurate records of security incidents, patrols, inspections, and other relevant activities, documenting details such as time, date, location, and actions taken. 
  • Prepare detailed incident reports and security assessments, providing timely updates and recommendations to Security Manager and relevant stakeholders. 
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to security documentation, reporting, and record-keeping. 
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of security measures and procedures, seeking feedback from stakeholders and implementing enhancements as needed. 
  • Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for security personnel, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to perform their duties effectively. 
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and improvement within the security team, encouraging proactive problem-solving and adaptability to evolving security challenges. 
  • Comply with and support the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and programs and any other applicable legislation and standards. 
  • Recognise and understand the health and safety risks associated with assigned job tasks. 
  • Perform all duties in a manner that promotes good health and hygiene, no harm to the environment, and no injury to self or risk to others. 
  • Stop work if any work-related safety incident is imminent or occurs, in a manner compliant with Company policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. 
  • Wear and maintain PPE as required and in the manner prescribed. 
  • Attend HSE training as required by the Company. 
  • Report all HSE-related incidents according to Company procedures and assist in incident investigations, as necessary. 
  • Ensuring the application of HSSE Management System policies and principles in every day’s work.
ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Law Enforcement or a related discipline. 
  • Certification in Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Security Management Professional (CSMP), or Certified Security Supervisor (CSS) would be an asset.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience as a security professional, with experience in leadership or supervisory role within the security industry.
  • Experience in managing teams, coordinating operations, and making effective decisions under pressure.
  • Knowledge and ability to design electronic security systems such as CCTV, Access Control and Alarm systems.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments, training, developing security plans, policies and procedures, managing access control systems, and responding to security incidents or emergencies.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices related to security, safety, and risk management.
