Description of Loss Prevention Officers

The Loss Prevention Officer at our client's call center is primarily responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the facility, its employees, and visitors. This role involves monitoring and maintaining security protocols, preventing unauthorized access, and responding to any security incidents or emergencies. 

Key Responsibilities:

Access Control:

  • Monitor and control entry points to the call center, ensuring that all employees and visitors have proper identification.
  • Maintain a visitor log and ensure visitors are escorted as necessary.

Surveillance and Monitoring:

  • Conduct regular patrol of the facility, including all floors and common areas, to ensure security and safety.
  • Monitor security cameras and alarms, responding to any suspicious activities or breaches.
  • Conduct random checks to ensure compliance with security protocols and report any violations.

Incident Response:

  • Respond promptly to security incidents, such as unauthorized access, suspicious activities, or emergencies.
  • Report and document all incidents in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in evacuations and provide first aid when necessary.

Loss Prevention:

  • Identify potential theft, fraud, or other security risks within the call center.
  • Work closely with the management team to implement security measures that minimize the risk of loss.
  • Conduct investigations into security breaches and recommend corrective actions.

Emergency Preparedness:

  • Participate in regular emergency drills and training sessions.
  • Ensure that all emergency exits and equipment are functioning and accessible.

Support Services:

  • Assist with the setup and secure closure of training and conference rooms.
  • Provide general assistance to employees and visitors as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

  • 3 CXC subjects including English Language
  • Previous experience in security, loss prevention, or a related field, preferably in a call center or similar environment.

Skills:

  • Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with composure and professionalism.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in using security equipment and technology, including surveillance systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Working Conditions:

  • The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced call center environment.
  • May involve shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
