The Sanitation Engineer has responsibility for facilitating the implementation and execution of an effective Clean-In-Place (CIP) programme for all production equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review  Clean-In-Place (CIP) records program to ensure that all equipment is maintained in keeping with the manufacturer’s recommendations
  • Undertake projects aimed at improving the CIP process time and results and perform analysis and review of data
  • Assume responsibility for the safety aspects of Cleaning and sanitation exercises
  • Enforce related aspects of Health and Safety program for chemical handling, their use and PPEs
  • Assess manufacturer’s maintenance recommendations and modify to adapt to local conditions where necessary
  • Ensure that Preventive Maintenance is carried out on all pieces of equipment at the scheduled times
  • Perform CIP data analyses and document observations
  • Assist with the implementation and upkeep of the 5S program
  • Operate in accordance with the following International Standards: Occupational Health and Environment, Quality Management Systems and Food Safety respectively
  • Assign training sessions scheduled by the company
  • Any other duty assigned within the scope of the job

 

JOB SPECIFICATION/COMPETENCIES [Minimum]

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Tertiary Level Qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Production engineering / technology with at least three (3) years’ experience in a Production environment
  • Excellent communication skills – both in written and verbal formats with great interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate, preferably MS Office with knowledge of other software applications
  • Extensive troubleshooting experience
  • Meticulous, with good planning, organization, time management and analytical abilities
