Are you passionate about maintaining cleanliness and creating a welcoming environment for customers? We are seeking a dedicated Sanitation Associate to join the team at a cafe and bistro in Kingston. This full-time position is essential in ensuring a clean, safe, and organized space for both our customers and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service Area:

• Regularly clean and sanitize tables, chairs, counters, and other surfaces in the dining and service areas.

• Sweep and mop floors to keep the area clean and free of debris.

• Ensure trash bins are emptied and maintained throughout the day.

Bathroom Maintenance:

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors, multiple times per shift.

• Ensure restrooms are well-stocked with essentials such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.

• Report any maintenance issues such as plumbing or lighting problems to management.

Kitchen Cleaning:

• Support the kitchen team by cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, equipment, and floors.

• Wash and sanitize kitchen utensils, cookware, and dishes, and organize them appropriately.

• Manage trash disposal and maintain kitchen cleanliness to meet health and safety standards.

Surrounding Areas:

• Maintain the cleanliness of outdoor seating and entry areas by sweeping and removing debris.

• Clean windows, doors, and entryways to enhance the establishment's appearance.

• Ensure outdoor trash receptacles and walkways are kept clean.

Compliance and Safety:

• Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment.

• Use cleaning agents and tools safely and wear protective gear as needed.

• Ensure cleaning supplies are stored securely and are readily available.

Additional Duties:

• Assist with organizing storage areas and unloading supplies.

• Help maintain stock levels of cleaning products and notify management when supplies are low.

• Support other team tasks to keep the establishment clean and organized.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous experience in a cleaning, janitorial, or sanitation role is a plus, especially in food service.

• Ability to work independently with attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.

• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.

• Comfortable handling cleaning supplies and equipment.

Schedule:

• Must be available to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
