Our client, Ocean Delight Products is seeking to fill the position of Sales Manager.

This is a permanent role based in Freeport.

JOB SUMMARY

The Sales Manager will be responsible for strategically planning and managing the general operations of the sales force for Trinidad and Tobago. He/she will also manage sales and service staff and provide strategic direction regarding resources and sales strategies to achieve the company’s objectives.  The Sales Manager must understand what motivates various customers to buy and know how to tap into those needs and desires in an effective way.

 

He /she is required to set short- and long-term sales strategies and evaluate the effectiveness of current sales and service programs. Additionally, the Sales Manager will rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, lead and direct the work of others and exhibit a wide latitude of creativity.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement and manage effective sales programs for the Trinidad & Tobago market.
  • Contribute to the development of sales objectives by forecasting expected sales volume and developing annual sales quotas for team members.
  • Achieve or exceed team sales value, margin and volume targets in alignment with company strategies and values.
  • Manage, train, coach and motivate the sales force to develop their skills, to ensure that sales targets and other KPIs are delivered.
  • Monitor sales force activity to ensure appropriate customer contact time to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix and recommend selling price by staying abreast of current market conditions, changing trends, economic indicators and competitors.
  • Continually assess new and existing distribution channels, develop and evaluate their performance and manage conflict ensuring alignment with strategic plan.
  • Perform monthly forecasting activities to communicate expected product mix and sales volumes.  
  • Design and implement sales initiatives, strategies and programs to capture new target markets.
  • Recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.
  • Meet with key relevant customers to discuss their evolving needs, and to assess the quality of our company’s relationship with them in order to maximize sales.
  • Create, implement and manage relevant SOP’s to maximize efficiency in the customer service process.
  • Ensure distribution budgets are kept.
  • Report on sales and service activities to the Directors.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as directed by the Commercial Director

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A BSc. Degree in Commerce, Sales, Marketing, Management Studies or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience as a Sales Manager in the FMCG sector.
  • Certifications in Customer Service.
  • Any suitable combination of training and experience.
