SNR Air-Condition Technician

 SNR AIR-CONDITION TECHNICIAN 

JOB OBJECTIVE:
To provide timely and efficient technical support to the Manager with respect to all categories of aircondition/refrigeration & general maintenance – preventative, corrective and routine maintenance in accordance with the organisational & departmental polices, procedures and guidelines.

JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Ensure that all equipment is maintained properly, ensuring reliability, safety and optimum performance.
  2. Ensure that information on the correct use of equipment and safety measures is communicated to all user departments/personnel.
  3. To assist in all other areas of general maintenance as required, such as plumbing, electrical repairs, etc.
  4. Perform daily inspections of the company’s premises including, but not limited to, making repairs and conducting tests.
  5. Assist in planning and scheduling of maintenance work to minimize operations and equipment downtime.
  6. Assist in the implementation of an effective Preventative Maintenance Program and provide information for its continuous upgrading.
  7. Maintain an accurate log to track repairs and service carried out on equipment and property.
  8. Prepare routine reports on the maintenance function on a timely basis.
  9. Assist in the development of the department’s annual budget and ensure that operating and other costs are within the department’s budget.
  10. Liaise with the Purchasing Department on stock requirements and usage.
  11. Act as relief staff for the Maintenance Supervisor and other maintenance personnel where necessary.
  12. Carry out PPM Planned Preventative maintenance activities to essential site specialized HVAC systems.
  13. Maintenance, service and repair of air conditioning and refrigeration units in a controlled manufacturing environment.
  14. Equipment maintained includes VRVs, Fan coils, AHU, chilled water systems serving manufacturing and production lines. Freezers, chillers used for storage.
  15. Respond to site emergency breakdowns as and when required. Assist maintenance & project teams with technical expertise & backup when required. 
  16. Perform all other related duties as assigned by the Construction & Maintenance Manager.


KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
1. Reports directly to the Manager.
2. Interacts regularly with all Maintenance personnel.
3. Interacts regularly with all departmental managers and supervisors.
4. Liaises internally with all departments.

EDUCATION:
Five (5) Ordinary level subjects, including English Language and Maths at General Proficiency with at least CXC grade II or GCE grade C. NEC Technician’s Diploma or its equivalent from a recognized training institution.


EXPERIENCE
At least five (5) years experience in airconditioning/refrigeration equipment maintenance.
Must have an above average knowledge of electrical repairs and new installations.Knowledge of three phase would be an asset.

The individual must be proactive, reliable and flexible. He/she must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines consistently.
The incumbent must be results-oriented and be able to use his/her initiative in order to realise departmental and organisational goals and objectives. He/she must be a teamplayer with a positive work ethic and must be able to communicate effectively with persons at all levels (internally and externally).
The incumbent must be well organized and methodical with a keen eye for details. He/she must be assertive, highly disciplined, thorough and self-motivated as well as ready and able to embrace the responsibilities associated with this position.

WORKING HOURS
Individual must be able to work shifts.
